My First Pair

Pattern: Basic Socks from Better Homes and Gardens
Needles: 4 bamboo Clover dpns (US 2)
Yarn: Lion Brand Magic Stripes
Recipient: Mom

Well, these are the first socks I ever made. The color is roughly black, white, and purple. I used a really basic sock pattern with a K2P2 ribbing down the front, heel stitch for the heel, and a stockinette foot with a square toe. Nothing fancy here at all. (Note the hand-knit socks I am wearing while I take this photo... Meg made those for me.)

Since I didn't have Mom's measurements, I had to guess. It turned out to be generally a bit too tight, but they did loosen up after washing and a few wearings. It's really hard to knit for a foot you don't have!
