Saturday in Pictures

It was a beautiful day in Oak Park...

I found three great CDs from the used record store...

...and some delicious tea from Todd and Holland.

I went to the Fold...

to get some of this...

and one of these.

Later, I made some of this.

At the end of the day, I was one happy Fool.

Woo-HOO!!!! You got a WHEEL!!!!! YES!!!!! A Lendrum, methinks? I have heard that those boogie along at a very nice clip, and the portability is a handy thing indeed. Nice rovings you picked out, too.

Our lovely Saturday was spent driving around in Maine. We stayed on Deer Isle for the weekend, for a much-needed break. I was good and only went to one yarn shop, where I bought a mere four skeins. I wouldn't have even bought that much, but this stuff was a perfect color for my Kilmainham Gaol Scarf design, and I think it will show up the stitch patterns better than the flecked gray I used on the first one.

Also met with the lady who offered my latest sweater commission and honed in on a design. (Not quite the one I had envisioned, but I can work with what she chose, and the Guernsey design I had in mind will surface later, probably as a sweater for ME.)

Must head off to work now, and will check out your St Pat's entry a bit later.

Happy spinning!!!!!!

Mazel Tov! (Must hide jealousy and bitterness. Must pretend to be happy. Must not let my evil nature show.) I'm so happy for you! I love the blue! (Must go sulk in the corner and ponder my unhappiness.) Ta!

Ah, the smile of a man who just got a wheel. I'm envious, yet happy for you, you dear thing. The yarn looks lovely.

Ah, your first wheel?! What a special moment! May you have many happy adventures with her! Are you going to stain it too? Could be nice as well..

And excellent choice of colours! But I like bright and clear... well, okay, so I like them all!! You done good!
