Eat your vegetables

This is our friend who rewired the plug on my mom's iron for me. It's a really good iron, one of the old-fashioned kind that's nice and heavy, so it flattens wrinkle on the first try.

These are the socks I knit him. He picked the yarn out of the basket, but I don't think he expected them to come out like this. I didn't. It's KnitPicks merino sock yarn, in the colorway "Daffodils," which I think is more reminiscent of mixed frozen peas-and-carrots, but that's OK. Either one works.
Mornings like today, I wish there were a Bagel Fairy with a big wicker basket that flies through the city and leaves fresh, warm bagels for good people and stale Wonder bread for bad people. And I wish the Bagel Fairy had a big talking coffeepot for a sidekick, full of nice hot coffee.
Sigh.
I think all we have are cereal trolls.

The socks match the logo on his shirt. And be careful with that merino sock yarn from Knitpicks. It felts at the slightest touch of the washing machine.
I've added "Two Sock Knitters" to the list of "Blogs I Like" on my blog. It fits in well with "Brass Goggles," "Evil Mad Scientist Laboratories," and the "San Diego Zoo Weblogs."

Love the socks, by the way!

A banjo player who can also do electrical work? That's a good friend.

If you find the bagel fairy, please send her my way. For I am starving over heah, and DC is suddenly cold as the dickens and continually sans good bagels.
Sounds like you need a 24-hour bagel place like the one we have in Chicago... New York Bagel and Bialy. And they're the real deal, too. Boiled and everything.

I think those socks are tooo cool - they do remind me of peas and carrots though...
sock yarns are soo pretty. but they hardly ever turn out like I picture them.

I have the worst time figuring out what a particular yarn will look like once it's knitted. Sometimes, the element of surprise is fun; other times, I'd like to know what to expect.

Hey! I recognize that yarn. I made a pair of socks in that colorway myself not too long ago. Nice work!
